Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located from Naozhigou to Ergulazi, Linjiang Town, Jilin Province. And it was named by Liu and Mi in 1981

Synonym: Study on multiple stratigraphic division and correlation of the abandoned Naozhigou Fm and Ergulizi Fm in Jilin, the two strata are collectively called Changbai Fm (Cao, 1994).


Lithology and Thickness

It is a set of continental acidic volcanic lava composed of lava aggregates, lava breccia, lava and multiple eruption cycles. It is dominated by acidic volcanic rock and thickness greater than 1000 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It has conformable contact with the underlying Ergualazi Fm

Upper contact

It has unconformable contact with the overlying Jurassic Yihe Fm (=Yaogou Fm ), with local fault contact.
